The Liturgy Committee
The purpose of this committee is to enhance and encourage the worship of the faith community at the Church of St. Thomas More and stimulate and strengthen personal and communal spiritual growth.
Open to youth, grade 4 and older, and adults. Training is provided.
Assists in the planning for liturgical environment and preparation of a hospitable and prayerful atmosphere in the worship space in correlation with the changing seasons of the liturgical year.
Provides future and immediate funeral liturgy planning, assists in funeral liturgies, hosts receptions, and walks with the bereaved through their season of grief.
Supports our worship as psalmists, and promotes congregational singing during our worship.
Supports our worship and enriches our celebration by presenting unaccompanied choral music from various periods and in various styles.
Supports our worship and enriches our celebration on a seasonal basis (Christmas and Easter) by presenting age-specific music.
Assists the priest in the distribution of Holy Communion during Mass, to the homebound, to retirement communities, and to the hospitalized.
Assists the priest in the distribution of Holy Communion during Funeral and Memorial Masses.
Welcomes everyone to our church home and to God’s table at each weekend and holyday liturgy, assisting the faith community in its worship before, during, and after the liturgy.
Welcomes everyone to our church home at Funeral and Memorial Masses, ministering to the families and friends of our beloved dead before, during, and after the liturgy.
