The Liturgy Committee
The purpose of this committee is to enhance and encourage the worship of the faith community at the Church of St. Thomas More and stimulate and strengthen personal and communal spiritual growth.
Prepares the church building and worship space for liturgies, prepares liturgical materials necessary for Mass, participates during the liturgy, and secures the building.
Prepares liturgical materials necessary for Funeral and Memorial Masses, and assists the priest and deacon at the altar and throughout the liturgy.
Supports our worship and enriches our celebration by presenting accompanied and unaccompanied music in the great choral tradition of the Church from various periods and in various styles.
Prepares the thurible and boat incensing the priest deacon and congregation as required during certain weekend, Holy Day, Funeral, and Memorial Masses.
Supports our worship and enriches our celebration by presenting original and specifically arranged handbell music as well as by supporting congregational song, playing our five-octave set of English handbells and our three-octave set of hand chimes.
Provides assistance to couples in the planning and logistics of their marriage ceremony.
